We built Roast My Cart to be straightforward. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What We Collect
Account Information
When you sign up, we collect your email address and password. Passwords are stored only as salted, one-way cryptographic hashes (never plain text).
Usage Data
We track how you use the app: which pages you visit, roasts you run, and features you interact with. This helps us improve the product.
Cookies
We use cookies for:
- Session cookies — keeps you logged in after you authenticate
- Free roast tracking — remembers how many free roasts you've used so we don't ask you to sign up prematurely

Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card number. Stripe provides us with basic transaction records (amount, date, status) for billing purposes. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Product URLs You Submit
When you paste a product URL to roast, we process that URL through our pipeline and may cache results temporarily to improve performance. We don't associate your URL submissions with your account for advertising purposes.
How We Use Your Data

- To improve the product based on usage patterns
- To detect and prevent abuse
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for ad targeting.

Your Rights
- Access — Request a copy of data we hold about you
- Delete — Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt-out — Stop using the service at any time; your data will age out
- Correct — Update your email address via your account settings

Data Retention
We keep account data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized usage data may be retained longer for analytics.
Children's Privacy
Roast My Cart is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, contact us immediately at privacy@roastmycart.com.
Changes to This Policy
We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top when we make changes. Significant changes will be communicated via email to registered users.
